2012 will usher in positive change. My four year old
daughter is settled in preschool and will attend
Kindergarten in September. I am taking advantage of my
time to up the marketing ante and take my website into the
social media limelight. Hello Facebook, Twitter, etc.
Look for upcoming campaigns via e-mail. I am applying to
three juried shows this year as well taking my art to a
whole new level. Stay tuned for upcoming details.

I am thrilled to have been juried into this July's Western
Art Show at the Calgary Stampede from *July 14-17*. Since
I am new to the Stampede, they have placed me in the four
day booth area (right in the middle). I will be on display
from *July 14-17* to expose and sell my art to a much wider
audience. I submitted ten or so images for consideration
by the judges last December and completely forgot about it
until I received the news in February. Since then I have
been preparing up to 21 new pieces. The subject matter
focuses on the western landscape, in particular the
mountainous roads of the foothills and flat prairie land
that lead to exploration of one of our most sought after
resource: the oil sands. I have been experimenting with
my use of oils, encaustic, and minerals in ever larger sizes
as well as some new smaller ones. I have gone back to my
roots of using vivid colour combinations with new techniques
of laying metal leaf and cold as well as hot wax
applications (encaustics).

I recently exhibited at the Medicine Hills Art Show in
Sylvan Lake, Alberta. It was my second juried show and the
calibre of artists were incredible. Thank you to all my
clients who stopped by and supported us.
